Dr. Pooyan Refahi had spent majority his life in Washington DC Metropolitan. Upon graduating high school in Northern Virginia he obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from George Mason University and a Masters of Science Degree in Biomedical Science Policy and Advocacy from Georgetown University. Upon completion of his Masters, he started his dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Refahi was able to complete many of his passions during his pre-doctoral training at Tufts, excelling as a dental clinician and patient focused care along with enhancing his academic experiences with both national and local outreach in the American Dental Education Association, American Student Dental Association. Following the completion his DMD degree he remained at Tufts and obtained his Advanced Education in Periodontology Certificate along with a certification in IV sedation and has become a board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant surgery.
Although Dr. Refahi’s primary focus is practice based patient care, he still maintains a strong relationship with the Tufts University as a faculty member in the Periodontology department. Currently he is working with a team in developing an individualized patient based pre-clinical surgical simulation program for implant training, as well as, evaluating the accuracy of implant placement using dynamic navigation technologies.
Dr. Refahi is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS). Dr. Refahi is truly committed to his patients and is dedicated in providing them with the best possible experience and treatment through a collaborative inter-disciplinary approach with referring practitioners.
